The charts

Six charts of the Bible's shape: its cross-references, its people, its library of books, and who is named most, book by book and age by age.

The charts stand on the Bookshelf under Charts, and in the menu's Charts column. Each carries a faint Scrollwork watermark.

Cross-references

Every cross-reference in the Bible, drawn as an arc from chapter to chapter.

  • Votes sets how many readers must have found a cross-reference useful before it is drawn; What are votes? explains it.
  • Point at a book's name to light its arcs. Choose a chapter to see its ten strongest partners, each opening a small reader.
  • Follow Jesus lights the chapters where He appears, in gold.
  • Each book has a card with More info, which opens its Drawer.
  • On a phone: Find a book, then the list.

Bible People Network Map

The Bible's people, joined by the verses that name them together.

  • People shown sets how many are drawn.
  • Spread, Pull, Stretch across, Stretch up and down, Strength and Among themselves change how the network lies.
  • Focus and Find a person bring one person and their company forward. Drag a person to pin them where you want them; Unpin lets them go. Relayout and Reset the network start again.
  • A person opens the same card and Drawer as on the lineage.

The Bible Library

  • View: Library, or People and places, who and where each book names.
  • Size by: each book's slice sized by its verses, or by its words in the King James.
  • Rim: the outer ring shows each book's Language, its Date positions, or My progress: your reading, in gold, from your history in the Study Reader.
  • The library in figures beside it: verses by testament and division, and the most cross-referenced books.
  • Choose a ring's part to zoom into it; Back to all 66 books returns. Point at a book for its card, with More info.

The People Race

Who is named most, book by book: the names race as the Bible goes on. Play and Pause, Reset, and the Book slider to stop at any book. God is named in more verses than anyone, so His count is shown apart at first; Include God adds it to the race. About this chart says how it is counted.

The Tribes

The tribes and groups of Israel as bars of the members Scripture records, including the six with none recorded.

The Tribe Race

The tribes' recorded members over time. Play and Reset, the Year slider, and the order: When they lived or When first named.

Keys

Space plays or pauses a race, and ← and → step it. On Cross-references, Tab moves to the next book, Enter shows its first chapter, and I opens its Drawer. All of them are on Keyboard shortcuts.
